   Evangelions(EVAs) are weapons created by humans to destroy the oncoming Angels.These huge bio-genetic robots are actually living creatures covered by pieces of armour.They require a power source to remain active.A removable long cable is attached on its back to the power source but once the cable is severed,the Eva will have 5 minutes left before complete shutdown of the Eva occurs.It runs on an internal battery and has 5 minutes of normal movement or 1 minute on berserk mode.All Evas have the ability to generate an AT(Absolute Terror) Field,much like a force field and similar to the Angels'.Derived from the first Angel,Adam,these Evangelions have a striking resemblance to it and are being developed in other parts of the world.In End of Evangelion(Movie),the newest model is Eva-05 which is white in color,has wings(ability to fly),runs without an external power source due to the presence of the S2 engine and has the ability to regenerate at will.

    Pilots of Evangelions need to have utmost concentration while operating them.Even the slightest mistake made by the pilots can be severe.All the Children(Asuka,Rei and Shinji)are able to keep calm and concentrate at all times,even while fighting Angels.

    Shinji's mother,Yui,vanished into Eva-01 while experimenting.Scientists later found the body of Yui but apparently her soul was still in Eva-01.This explains Shinji's high synchronization rate(explained below).Eva-00 and Eva-02,for the same reason,contains both Naoko's(Ritsuko's mother) and Asuka's mother respectively.Wierd huh?:)

    Synchronization rate(Dubbed 'synch rate) is the amount of control the pilot has over the Evangelion.The higher the synch rate,the less the pilot needs to 'think' to get the huge Eva to move.Lesser synch rate pilots require more 'thinking' than higher ones,thus harder to control.When synchronization rate reaches above 100%,the pilot loses all control over the Eva.The Evangelion will enter berserk mode and will move on its own accord,regardless of its pilot's commands.The only way to stop a berserk Eva is to remove its power source(power cable).The only thing left to do then is to wait(ouch!).
